Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I was drawn to SAC for their profound connections made between students and alumni.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite SAC event is Athletic Alumni Weekend because it is fun to watch the alumni teams beat our current athletic students :)

What is the best interaction you've had with an alumni?
The best interaction I've had with an alumni was when I was volunteering for a President's Reception. This alumni was brought up by a golf cart. The first thing she asked me while I helped her out was "Where is my comb? I need it, my hair is not presentable right now!" What a well kept lady!

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I used to be a competitive jump roper.

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I am in SAC because it offers a direct link to the Alumni of Elmira College, which i believe is an opportunity to succeed that should not be passed up as it offers connections for future employment and professional growth.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite SAC event would have to be AAW because of how much fun we have each year setting up for the event, as well as the time spent at the Domes with the alumni athletes.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
One of my favorite memories at Elmira College was working at the Domes at my first Domes date. I had so much fun working with the club members and members of dining services. We shared a lot laughs and worked very hard to raise money for the club.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I have both an identical twin and my best friend from high school was legally adopted as my brother. I find myself very fortunate to be able to say that my two best friends in the whole world are in fact my siblings and if it wasn't for them I would not be who I am today.

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I first heard about Student Alumni Council through a friend, so I guess I came because of her. I stayed because SAC is in charge of some really awesome events and I wanted to be a part of that.
Through these events I have had the privilege of learning how to become a better leader. Experiences and memories like these cannot be taught or created in the classroom.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
This is difficult, but I have to say I really love Reunion. Being able to see Alumni come back to campus to reunite with their classmates and reminisce is such a fantastic thing to be a part of.

What is your favorite EC tradition and why?
No contest, Candlelight the night before graduation my favorite EC tradition. Surrounded by friends and memories, the senior class spends one last night all together on the eve of commencement. You really have to be there to even come close to understanding the full meaning of this event.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I change body wash according to the season.

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I am in SAC to create lasting relationships and memories with my peers as well as with Alumni from Elmira College. I heard about the club through working in Dean David Williams ’02 Office due to Mary Swasta. She explained to me the great leadership opportunities as well as relations and connections that could occur from my involvement in this club. I liked knowing I could create lasting relationships and have been an active member for the past three years.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite SAC event is the Manners Maven Dinner. I look forward to this event every year and have attended it since my freshman year.  This is a special event for SAC for we get to be served great food at Simeons while bonding with our club members, advisors, alumni relations office, as well as Alumni. During this event we learn great etiquette tips that can be used for the future or for a special event one is to attend. Lastly, we are all placed in a raffle to potentially win a special etiquette or special business book. I genuinely enjoy this event and look forward to it ever year.

What is your favorite EC tradition and why?
My favorite EC Tradition… this is a tough one but probably a tie between Octagon Fair and Mountain Day. Octagon Fair is an amazing event that links up the EC Community with the Local Community and joins everyone together for a day of fun games, activities, shopping, information, great food, and entertainment. I love Octagon Fair but I also love Mountain Day. Mountain Day, like Octagon Fair is a unique EC Tradition. Mountain Day is that one day for us to all rest after a stressful few weeks back and enjoy some great activities and enjoy a day off while also having fun with friends on campus.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that I have two horses. I have been riding since I was little and love being at the barn. I currently have two young horses that are in training for jumping and showing. I started showing them last year and earned several awards and earned my first quarter horse point. Showing is something I enjoy doing and I love my horses like they are part of my family. I am very close with my trainer and her daughter and the barn is like a second home to me.  I often have pictures and talk about Cholten Jay and Hunter Oreo. Last year, I had the pleasure to start riding my trainer’s special horse Maui and I look forward to further enhancing my riding skills through working with this horse.

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I joined SAC because I actually had a lot of friends who were in it and because I had volunteered at Reunion at the end of my freshman year. I wanted to be a part of the group that's behind a some of the bigger events happening on campus. One of my favorite things about SAC is definitely the interaction with alumni. I have heard some really incredible stories and also learned a lot about what I want to do with my degree.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite event has to be Reunion. I've been both a volunteer and an Executive chair for the event. I think it's one of the most fun events and you have the chance to see your friends again during the summer. Also, it's incredible to see so many alumni gathered here again. They always have the best stories.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
One of my favorite memories is of the Fall Orientation last year. I performed at the Talent Extravaganza, playing the piano and singing. The response was amazing and I had people coming up to me for a week or two after, complimenting me.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I have been playing the piano since I was in fifth grade, and despite only taking lessons for the first two years, I have continued playing almost every day. I have been a music director for an a Capella group and have actually composed a few songs of my own!

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I am in SAC because Angela Bergeron '14 invited me to join her one day and I ended up loving the meetings! I am in SAC because I love the opportunities that we have with Alumni and committees.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My Favorite SAC event is the Manners Maven dinner. I love this event because it teaches you how to have good etiquette at a business or formal dinner.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
My favorite memory at EC is the radical raft race freshmen year during term 3. Angela and I built our raft with duck tape and cardboard. When we got to the race all the upperclassman told us our boat would sink and that freshman never win. So we called out boat "The Titanic". During the first race we were neck to neck with another boat but our competitiveness came out and we won with seconds to spare! At the second and final round our boats sunk and we swam to the finish. But we did end up getting 3rd place and everyone congratulated us!

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that I collect glass dolphins from around the world. When I was 15 years old my brother bought me a glass dolphin from Italy because he knew it was my favorite animal. Ever since then I have been collecting them from different parts of the world while I have been traveling, including Australia!

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
Two years ago, my friend was looking to recruit some more members to SAC and she started telling me about all the great things SAC does. I guess what really drew me to it was the opportunity to hold leadership positions that are different than simply being an officer in a club.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
I really love Octagon Fair. I think it's great that it brings together the student clubs, outside groups, crafters, vendors, not-for-profits, people from the community, alumni, and students' families. It's a fun event that I've grown a larger appreciation for having been on the committee two years in a row.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
My freshman year I auditioned for the play Shadow Box. I had worked on my monologue for a few weeks and was hoping that I had done good enough at the auditions to get cast in the show. I remember going to look at the cast list worried about what it would say, because I really wanted to be in the play. Seeing my name on the list was an amazing moment because it made all of my hard work worth it.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I worked at a sleep away camp this past summer where I worked on a ropes course, assisted in directing to play productions, and taught improv to teenagers.

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I am a member of SAC because it gives students the opportunity to become leaders and challenge themselves to work hard and create memorable moments for students, faculty, alumni, and parents. I like how rewarding the club is in the sense that after an event, one feels a sense of accomplishment and pride. It's an amazing experience.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite SAC event is Autism Awareness. I was a part of the committee last year and had a great time working with Betsy Hilfiger to put on a fashion show in the Campus Center. It was a rewarding experience looking at the blue lights around campus at night and knowing that I was helping to spread the awareness.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
I can honestly say that I do not have simply one favorite memory at EC, I have many. My experiences here so far have been absolutely amazing and have made me into the person I am today. Some of favorites are my Grey's Anatomy Thursday viewing sessions, the Holiday Ball and dancing the night away, as well as traveling to Spain for Term III last year, all of these included some of my best friends. The memories I have made with the people I have met here will last a lifetime, and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I have a slight (okay maybe huge!) obsession with traveling. I want to go everywhere and see everything I possibly can! I have traveled to Martha's Vineyard, Disney World, Maine, Niagara Falls, Washington D.C., Charleston, New York City, Boston, and numerous other places! I have been to Spain twice, as well as France and Italy. Traveling for me is fun and exciting and really feeds my curiosity with learning the history and culture of not only America, but also other countries as well. I have a list of places I still need to go, and others I want to revisit!

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I first choose to be in SAC after I had volunteered at Athletic Alumni Weekend, when a friend had told me that they desperately needed volunteers. Because I have always loved volunteering, I decided to get up early and help. My experience was so inspiring that I started to go to the meetings. That spring, I was chosen to be the Fundraising Chair for the JDRF committee. What I loved about SAC was its connection to the alumni and the emphasis placed on leadership and community. Some of the best memories that I have had at Elmira have been through the experiences of SAC.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite SAC event is Reunion, when the past Alumni come together to celebrate their time here at EC. This year I was fortunate enough to meet an alumni who was the most endearing women. She shared with me her stories of her life here at EC. I have made friends with many of them.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
My favorite memory at EC was my Term III trip to Japan. Accompanied with some of my best friends, I got to travel all the way around the world, and experience on of the most unique cultures I have ever known in addition to meeting one some of the most hospitable people. The laughs and joys that I shared with them were some of the most memorable, from trying very different food to seeing a geisha. It was an incredible opportunity.

What is an interesting, fun fact about you?
I have been to fourteen different countries on three different continents!

Why are you in SAC? What drew you to the club and what do you like most about it?
I joined SAC last year; a lot of my friends were all apart of it so I joined. The meetings were a lot of fun! The people are great and extremely caring. I enjoy that we get to work together to create events for alumni and current students to get to know one another.

What is your favorite SAC event and why?
My favorite SAC event is Reunion; I participated in it for the first time last year as Co-Children Chair. I really enjoyed being on a committee with such great people, and I feel like I built some great friendships through this event. It was an interesting experience to see the friendships of alumni and it was a surreal experience to think that one day that we’ll be there.

What is your favorite memory at EC?
My favorite memory at EC is just spending time with my friends in their rooms watching movies and spending time together doing homework.

What is your favorite EC tradition and why?
My favorite EC tradition is definitely the Holiday Banquet; it’s just a wonderful time to get to know the professors. I feel like it brings a more homey feel to the school having a nice sit down dinner, and it is also fun dressing up for a nice dinner.
